Many gaming fans are certainly hoping to see “Cyberpunk 2077” finally arrive in stores. When developer CD Projekt Red confirmed that upcoming game will make an appearance at E3 in June, the hope for getting witnessing a release date announcement grew.

However, a more recent “Cyberpunk 2077” teaser released by Sony PlayStation seemingly advised fans to stop hoping for a 2019 release date. The five-minute video addressed why the development of the game is taking a long time and why CD Projekt Red cannot release at once all details they have at the moment.

By the end of the same video, a clearer message was made that the wait for “Cyberpunk 2077” will not end anytime soon. “‘Cyberpunk 2077’ may no longer be the mystery it once was, but work on it is far from over,” the narrator said. “True to the promise made in 2013: ‘It’s still coming when it’s ready.’”

As mentioned, CD Projekt Red recently confirmed that “Cyberpunk 2077” will appear at E3 in June. The video game company is most likely referring to presenting new teasers and updates on additional gameplay features' details. However, if the development is “far from over,” fans cannot expect CD Projekt to reveal everything they have at the moment and for a very understandable reason.

“The reason why you can’t really go out and just show everything is because video game development is such an iterative process. What we have now might not be there tomorrow,” “Cyberpunk 2077” level designer Miles Tost explained. “We’ve had ideas that have died over the years, then they have been resurrected, and they died again, and now they’re back.”

“Cyberpunk 2077” was first announced in 2012, but a substantial amount of teasers and gameplay preview was only revealed in 2018. The upcoming “action-oriented, narrative-driven open world RPG” is based on the RPG tabletop game “Cyberpunk 2020” written by Mike Pondsmith and was released in 1988.
