Chip Chap, the "e-money converter" app, has recently launched a new version that will facilitate bitcoin purchases via credit card globally, as reported by CoinTelegraph.
The beta app, available on Android, enables users to buy bitcoin using the 3-D Secure protocol for Visa and MasterCard credit card transactions. The transactions have been tested in Europe, Russia, and the U.S. and Chip Chap CIO and co-founder Vicent Nos Ripolles said that worldwide users should be able to purchase bitcoin.
Chip Chap is a simple "e-money converter" that supports a number of payment methods and vouchers. When the option to make a new transaction is clicked in the app, along with these other cash-in and cash-out methods is a "Bank card" option. Users just have to enter the amount of bitcoin (in Euros) to be sent to their bitcoin address and then follow instructions from their credit card provider.
Bitchain, the Spain-based Bitcoin ATM provider, recently invested 1 million euro in Chip Chap.
"We consider that is very important for us to have achieved this strategic agreement with a big company like Bitchain in order to follow our global expansion strategy until unbanked countries, besides of having our own structure", said Alvaro Gijon, CEO of Chip Chap.
