SHANGHAI, China, March 17, 2016 -- China Lodging Group, Limited (NASDAQ:HTHT) (“China Lodging Group” or the “Company”), a leading and fast-growing multi-brand hotel group in China, today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized additional repurchases of its own outstanding American Depositary Shares (“ADSs”), bringing the Company’s available repurchase authorization to US$80 million.
Under the prior share repurchase program (up to US$40 million) approved on April 20, 2015, China Lodging Group repurchased approximately 0.77 million ADSs with an aggregate purchase price of US$17.5 million as of March 15, 2016. Now, the Company’s share repurchase program will extend for another 12-month period with an aggregate amount up to US$80 million.
