PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 10, 2018 -- Rubrik, the Cloud Data Management Company, today announced that Chapters Health System, a progressive leader in the delivery of hospice, palliative care and home health services, has deployed Rubrik to prevent data loss from Ransomware, protect its recently implemented Nutanix AHV environment with no additional hardware investments or licensing fees, and achieve near-zero RTOs and 15-minute RPOs.
Serving the West Central Florida community for more than 30 years, Chapters Health is a principal provider of care for persons affected by advanced and life-limiting illnesses. As part of its digital transformation initiative, Chapters Health found its legacy backup solution was unable to ensure data immutability against Ransomware and prohibitively expensive to use with both Nutanix AHV and VMware vSphere.
After deploying Rubrik, Chapters Health was able to:
- Rapidly recover from Ransomware attacks, minimizing system disruptions;
- Manage Nutanix AHV and VMware vSphere environments within a single system interface with no additional costs for backups; and
- Automatically backup every 15 minutes, reducing restore time from eight hours to 30 seconds and achieving significant TCO savings from hardware footprint consolidation.
Comments on the News:
“Ransomware is a huge issue for the healthcare industry, so we were looking for tools to help protect us,” said Chris Williams, Director of IT Operations at Chapters Health. “Rubrik gives us the ability to instantly recover from Ransomware without having to worry about losing any of our data. We were thinking of Ransomware protection separately from our backup and recovery issues, but Rubrik allowed us to address both in one fell swoop.”
“Chapters Health is a critical healthcare provider used by thousands of patients across West Central Florida. Minimizing the risk of downtime and maximizing efficiency is essential to provide the quality of care patients expect,” said Nitin Nagpal, Director of Product Management at Rubrik. “If an organization is hit by a Ransomware attack, Rubrik serves as the last line of defense to recover the systems and get them back up and running nearly instantly. By providing Chapters Health with a backup solution purpose-built for agility and simplicity, they can spend more time focusing on the needs and wellbeing of patients.”
“Rubrik supports Nutanix AHV, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft Hyper-V, so we can use whichever is most cost-effective or delivers the best performance," said Mike Parkin, Director of IT Security at Chapters Health. “Rubrik delivers flexibility and drives cost savings for us. With Rubrik, we can utilize different clouds or hypervisors without needing to purchase new licenses or dedicated hardware for backup; Rubrik’s single license covers them all.”
