“Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” is almost out and a lot of FPS fans are looking forward to shooting each other in this futuristic game. However, there is now a worrying issue that those who reserved or were thinking of getting physical copies of the game might need to consider. It seems that a day-one patch needs to be downloaded first before it can be played and it is a whopping 50GB.

This information came from Activision itself, which provided the system requirements for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.” In terms of the day-one update that needs to be downloaded, the final installation footprint will appear to be 55GB.

“Players must be connected to the internet when inserting the disc for the first time in order to initiate the update installation process. The final installation footprint will be approximately 55 GB,” the post reads.

“The day-one update package is roughly 50 GB. Download speeds may vary based on region, platform, connection type, and the speed of your internet connection.”

For those who are downloading the game, the day-one update will still be an issue. However, the whole point of buying “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” on a disc is so that these cumbersome downloads can be avoided. Now, players will need to deal with this particular problem on top of the missing story mode.

As a result of the rather huge file that needs to be downloaded in order to even play the game, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” is now being released a day early in some areas. In the U.K., for example, retailers are selling the game one day ahead of the official launch date, Eurogamer reports. Instead of Oct. 11, it will be available to gamers on Oct. 10.
