The complaint accuses the defendants of violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by virtue of the defendants’ failure to disclose during the Class Period that Sempra’s subsidiary, SoCalGas, lacked the capability to expeditiously repair a natural gas leak emanating from the Company’s Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility near the Porter Ranch neighborhood in Los Angeles and that an extended hazardous gas leak would constitute a serious threat to public health and safety.
According to the complaint, following the November 23, 2015 filing of a class action lawsuit against SoCalGas by Porter Ranch residents, the value of Sempra shares declined significantly.
