GAITHERSBURG, Md., Dec. 06, 2016 -- BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT), a global unified communication software as a service (UCaaS) leader, today announced the commercial availability of BroadSoft UC-One® Conference Room – a one-click conference room system experience that enables businesses to easily and affordably connect existing conference rooms to any UC-One virtual conference.
Today’s conference room system experience is not only cost-prohibitive for most businesses, but complex to install and use. Meeting organizers and participants navigate TVs and video cameras that don’t work together properly, requiring different remote controls for each individual component. These legacy systems make it difficult to add remote participants or share content. It is no wonder that 47%1 of employees view meetings as the number one time-waster at the office.
“The conference room experience has always been a challenge for traditional UC," said Stan Chizhevskiy, Technical Director of Access4. "We've found BroadSoft UC-One Conference Room a perfect fit for this problematic use case giving us an excellent integrated, easy-to-use and deploy product for conference room users that need both HD audio/video, as well as instantly available to collaborate between conference rooms, desktop UC users and external guests."
UC-One Conference Room works with any standard LCD screen, in any conference room, and includes Logitech GROUP, a ConferenceCam featuring wideband audio and HD video. As a result, UC-One Conference Room makes it easy and affordable to add video to every room at a price point that is approximately 1/10 the cost of comparably equipped telepresence systems.
“Logitech is delighted to partner with BroadSoft to overcome one of the biggest challenges with video conferencing in the meeting room, which is the ease of joining a call,” said Scott Wharton, vice president and general manager for Logitech Video Collaboration. “With Logitech ConferenceCams, BroadSoft UC-One solves this challenge by providing one-click join, high quality audio, video and content-sharing, and more, all at a highly affordable price.”
UC-One Conference Room delivers several features and benefits that dramatically improve the conference room system experience:
- One-click join – One-click meetings can be initiated from UC-One Conference room. All meetings are hosted in My Room, the BroadSoft virtual meeting space that brings together voice and video conferencing, multi-party chat and desktop sharing.
- Easy scheduling – From their office calendar, users can select any available conference room system to schedule their video conference. Once scheduled, users just need to walk into their conference room, click one button and start the video conference. Users will always know which video conference rooms are available.
- Content sharing with HD video – Meetings are intended to increase productivity, not reduce it. Content sharing functions allows anyone to start a collaboration session and review spreadsheets, presentations or any other document type; while wideband audio codecs capture every verbal nuance, and HD video relays crisp visual details.
- Reduces complexity – By enabling business users to manage their room video conferences from within the intuitive, desktop experience they use every day, UC-One Conference Room can reduce the cost and complexity of multi-point video conferencing. Desktop and room video users can start conferences with just a click, and it’s easy to add remote participants, joining via desktop and mobile devices.
“Most employees attend a whopping 62 meetings every month2, time that is often highly unproductive because of technology hiccups and a poor experience for those attending in-person and virtually,” said Scott Hoffpauir, chief technology officer, BroadSoft. “Now conferences can be started with the click of a button from our UC-One desktop and mobile apps, and service providers are now positioned to offer businesses of all sizes a multi-point solution that can be affordably and easily added to any conference room as needed.”
