SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 14, 2017 -- Baum, a provider of solutions to fully optimize the power and energy efficiency of semiconductor designs, today announced that it has closed Series A funding led by K Cube Ventures. The investment enables Baum to take its innovative, game changing, patented technology to the next level as both a product and a company. The funding provides Baum with the resources to grow the development team, enabling them to add capabilities to expand Baum’s target market. K Cube Ventures’ investment is also critical for Baum to strengthen its sales channels and marketing to transition from targeting early adopters to mainstream majority customers and partners.
Baum’s flagship product, PowerBaum, enables engineering groups to fully optimize the energy efficiency of their semiconductor designs. PowerBaum is a state-of-the-art, high-speed and accurate power analysis and modeling solution targeting designs where power and thermal issues are critical, such as with mobile, multi-media, automotive, internet of things (IoT), networking, and server markets. Designers use the PowerBaum solution much earlier in the design cycle when there is more opportunity to optimize power and gain better energy efficiency.
“In today's market, where semiconductor power consumption is becoming a major design factor due to the smartness of many devices in everyday life, the Baum team has developed innovative technologies that can quickly estimate power consumption and reflect on design decisions during the semiconductor design process,” says Kijun Kim, Partner at K Cube Ventures. “We expect Baum to grow very rapidly in popularity in the market."
“K Cube Ventures is one of the leading early-stage VCs, focusing on everything mobile and software. K Cube Ventures’ investment in Baum demonstrates their firm belief in the Baum team as well as our core technologies and ability to go to market,” says Andy Ladd, Baum’s chief executive officer and founder. “K Cube Ventures has an impressive track record of recognizing strong contenders that have a unique position in the market. Their investment provides the opportunity for Baum to take a dominate position in the low-power market and we are extremely excited to be a member of K Cube’s portfolio family.”
PowerBaum is shipping in production today and available globally.
