Initial 6 Bases Immediately Activated
Initial Shipments will be Reflected in Second Quarter 2018 Results
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 28, 2018 -- Barfresh Food Group, Inc. (OTCQB:BRFH), a manufacturer of frozen, ready-to-blend beverages, today announced that it received approval from the United States Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to sell its smoothie products into all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. The United States DLA, headquartered in Fort Belvoir, Northern Virginia, is the Department of Defense's logistics combat support agency, providing worldwide logistics support in both peacetime and wartime to the military services as well as several civilian agencies and foreign countries.
Barfresh began the stringent military approval process over a year ago and this announcement represents the formal establishment of another large new sales channel. Barfresh will be selling its smoothies to the Military’s approved distributors, which will be provided in turn to each of the installations they support. The Company’s Easy Pour bulk smoothies will be available to military food service programs supporting installation dining facilities. The Easy Pour format is the perfect solution for all meal periods and is designed to support a large number of personnel in a short period of time.
The Company is actively pursuing engagement with all U.S. military branches and expects to gain significantly greater penetration across the United States’ 940 bases, which serve 1.3 million active troops.
Riccardo Delle Coste, the Company's CEO stated, "We are proud to be approved and working with the U.S. military and to announce the placement of Barfresh’s great tasting, healthy smoothie offering at the six initial bases that have been immediately activated. Our successful implementation into the DLA’s system allows us access to the various branches of Service and bases with an endorsed product, enabling our sales team to target incremental opportunities in a much more efficient manner. DLA Troop Support is actively seeking healthier food and beverage alternatives to keep the men and women serving the U.S. military at their best. The initial response from our Military bases provides us great confidence in the potential of this new channel and we look forward to communicating additional placements in the coming months.”
