BTS to lend voice for OST of Japanese drama ‘Spiral Labyrinth’; New song to be released this summer

BTS will be releasing another song this summer and it was learned that it will be quite special because it will serve as an OST for a Japanese drama titled “Spiral Labyrinth.” it will be the South Korean boy band’s second soundtrack for a drama this year as V provided one for “Itaewon Class.”

BTS’ new OST

As per Billboard Japan, BTS’ song titled “Stay Gold” has been selected to the said drama’s theme song. It was learned that it will also be included in the group’s Japanese album that will be released soon.

“We are happy to be able to participate in the theme song for the drama ‘Spiral Labyrinth,’” BTS stated. “We hope that many people will look forward to it with love and interest. Please look forward to ‘Spiral Labyrinth’ and ‘Stay Gold!'”

The drama’s lead actor Tanaka Kei is said to be very proud and happy that BTS agreed to provide their project’s soundtrack. He also praised the track and agreed that it is very suitable for their show.

“‘Stay Gold’ is a bright song with expressive lyrics that anyone can relate to,” Soompi quoted the Japanese actor as saying. “It suits the atmosphere and story of ‘Spiral Labyrinth’ very well, so please enjoy them together. Generally speaking, it was a really cool song and it left an impression on my heart and ears and made an impact on me.”

The band’s influence can boost the drama’s ratings

Kei further said that he believes BTS will help their drama attract more viewers. He said that he knows that group is very popular and by hearing the song, fans could be enticed and remind people to watch their show as well.

BTS V also sang the OST of Park Seo Joon’s “Itaewon Class” and “Sweet Night” brought him to the Billboard World Chart as a solo singer. It was said that V placed no. 2 in the digital sales charts after selling 11,000 copies in just a week.

Meanwhile, “Spiral Labyrinth” is set to premiere on April 24 via TV Tokyo. It is based on the manga of the same title “Rasen no Meikyū.”
