AUSTIN, Texas, April 19, 2016 -- BOXX Technologies, the leading innovator of high-performance computer workstations and rendering systems, today announced that APEXX 5, the world's most advanced professional motion media workstation, will demonstrate Autodesk® Flame® Assist 2017 in BOXX booth #SL8230, while a rack-mounted APEXX 5R workstation will demo advanced augmented reality systems in Vizrt booth #SL2417 at the 2016 NAB Show, April 18-21, in Las Vegas, NV. Additional BOXX solutions will be featured in the BOXX booth and throughout NAB.
"Like BOXX solutions, Flame Assist production workflow support software is specifically designed to improve productivity," said Shoaib Mohammad, BOXX VP of Marketing and Business Development. "APEXX 5 maximizes I/O expandability with up to twelve total expansion cards, and reaches new levels in rendering and simulation, making it the ideal choice for the most demanding visual effects workflow."
The most advanced workstation on the market, the liquid-cooled APEXX 5 is available with a multitude of expansion cards, hard drives, memory, and CPU cores. Featuring dual Intel® Xeon® processors (up to 44 cores/88 threads) and the most expansion slots of any professional workstation, APEXX 5 can be configured with up to five dual-width, full-length graphics cards and a single-width graphics card for incomparable display arrays. A hot swap drive cage accommodates up to eight 2.5 inch drives, while internally, the system houses up to five 3.5 inch drives or twelve 2.5 inch drives. APEXX 5 is ideal for GPU rendering in V-Ray® RT, NVIDIA® Iray®, Octane Render, or other professional rendering and simulation software.
Inside their booth, Vizrt, a leading provider of virtual sets and augmented reality technology, will employ the all-new, customized APEXX 5R workstation (a re-engineered, rack-mounted version featuring four NVIDIA M6000 graphics cards and a Matrox Xmio3/6/550 video card) to demo advanced augmented reality systems featuring a 7.2 meter LED video wall. Elsewhere, Ardis Technologies' Dynamic Drive Pool booth # SL8505 will host an APEXX 4 7601 featuring an Intel Xeon processor and NVIDIA Quadro GPU, while Berlin-based Spin Digital, developers of high-performance video codecs, will present 8K video demos at their booth #SU15211 using a dual Intel Xeon APEXX 4 7901 equipped with two NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards. Also, directly adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center inside the Presidential Suite of the Renaissance Hotel, BOXX strategic partners CineSys Oceana will rely on an APEXX 5 workstation to demonstrate advanced Autodesk visual effects finishing software.
Back at the BOXX booth, APEXX 5 will be joined by the heralded APEXX 1, the world's smallest workstation available with an overclocked Intel® Core™ i7 processor, professional NVIDIA graphics, Intel solid state drives (SSD), and PCI-E NVMe SSD technology. APEXX 1 will demonstrate Clarisse iFX 2D/3D animation software, the fusion of an animation package, compositing software, and 3D rendering engine. Rounding out the BOXX booth is the GoBOXX MXL mobile workstation featuring Intel® Core™ i7 desktop processors. Designed for motion media artists and other creative professionals, the compact notebook enables users to create on-the-go without sacrificing true desktop workstation performance.
"Leading organizations choose BOXX as their demonstration hardware because they know we understand motion media workflows and what it takes to make these applications run at peak performance," said Mohammad. "BOXX innovations empower VFX artists, animators, and other creative professionals to work faster and more efficiently than ever before."
