Presented at the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California on January 21, the awards celebrated the best in pro audio and sound recording, with 180 nominees vying for 31 technical and creative awards. Presented annually by the NAMM Foundation, the NAMM TEC Awards recognize the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and other media. Nominees are chosen by a panel of professionals and thought leaders from all areas of the audio and sound production industry, and voting is open to prominent professional audio and music industry organizations, including the Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy and the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE).
