SAN DIEGO and LONDON, Jan. 04, 2017 -- Mitek (NASDAQ:MITK) (www.miteksystems.com), a global leader in mobile capture and identity verification software solutions today announced that the American Cancer Society has licensed and integrated Mitek’s Mobile Deposit® and Mitek MiSnap™ products into its mobile fundraising app. The American Cancer Society’s mobile application is used by tens of thousands of event participants to support fundraising efforts for the organization. The American Cancer Society FUNdraising App enhances the Relay For Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events by making it easy and fun to raise money to help save more lives from cancer.
With the MiSnap technology, event participants are easily able to use the video-based feature to auto-capture check donation images across both iOS and Android platforms as donations are collected, saving participants from having to mail the checks, while also making funds more immediately available to the American Cancer Society.
“Since checks are an important source of donations, having a reliable and innovative technology to help streamline the check capture process is critical to our success,” said Ben Kaplan, senior director, Mobile, American Cancer Society. “Our goal is to create the best user experience for our donors and fundraisers, driving business value to help fund our mission of freeing the world from the pain and suffering of cancer.”
“Mitek is pleased to play a role with the American Cancer Society in a way that so directly ties to their important fundraising initiatives,” said Michael Diamond, general manager of Mitek’s Payments Division.
