PARSIPPANY, N.J., Dec. 21, 2017 -- Acrow Bridge, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, announced today that its employees once again celebrated the spirit of the holiday season by providing much-needed gifts to “adopted” families and individuals in need in Morris County. The six-week-long project culminated with an employee event to wrap the gifts at Acrow’s headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey on December 8.
The families and individuals served by the Acrow event were referred by Operation Holiday, sponsored by the Woman’s Club of Morristown and the Daily Record of Morris County. This year, Acrow took on the wish lists of four families, three seniors and one single woman, with holiday presents ranging from cookies to toys and winter clothing. Once the assignment was accepted, Acrow was responsible for fulfilling the wish lists and wrapping, tagging and sorting the gifts. As in years past, the Acrow team proved up to the challenge.
“It’s a great way to give back to our community,” said Acrow employee Terry Toliver, one of the event organizers. “It’s wonderful to see the enthusiasm of the Acrow Team and a great way to make someone’s holiday brighter.”
Added Acrow colleague Gina Wierzbinski, another coordinator of the event, “It’s exciting to be a part of something that can get you into the bigger picture of the season, and to know that your small contribution can make someone feel they are not alone.”
“Participating in Operation Holiday has become a wonderful tradition for all of us at Acrow and the success of the event is all to the credit of Terry and Gina,” said Bill Killeen, CEO of Acrow Bridge. “The Acrow Team comes together to purchase and wrap holiday gifts that will be distributed by two wonderful groups: the Jersey Battered Woman’s Service, where they are focused on creating a safe and healthy environment for women and their families, and the Women’s Club of Morristown, where they give gifts to seniors in Morris County. Both organizations exhibit the best of our shared humanness and help move us in the direction of a world with less violence, less abuse, and more love.”
