Now, in hot pursuit of a genius with sinister associations, the team weighs the consequences of Flynn’s destruction, meets the man behind one of literature’s most popular figures, and endures a very uncomfortable… party.”
It was reported that author Sir Ian Fleming, famed for creating the iconic spy James Bond, will be appearing on the new series and will be portrayed by Sean Maguire. Maguire is best known for his role as Robin Hood on ABC’s hit fairytale television series ‘Once Upon A Time’.
The incoming episode will find Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus in pursuit of the time-traveling criminal Flynn as they attempt to stop him from changing the course of American history. It was stated in the promo that their trip to Nazi Germany would be one of their toughest mission yet.
The brand new American science-fiction and drama television series first aired on NBC on October 3, 2015. According to USA Today, ‘Timeless’ was deemed one of the television season’s most talked about shows online together with The CW’s ‘Frequency’ and ‘No Tomorrow’, Fox’s ‘Lethal Weapon’ and ‘Pitch’, NBC’s ‘This Is Us’, as well as ABC’s ‘Conviction’ and ‘Designated Survivor’.
It was created by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke and executive produced by Ryan, Kripke, John Davis, John Fox, Marney Hochman, and Neil Marshall. Ryan is best known for co-creating the crime-drama television series ‘The Shield’ while Kripe is the creator of The CW’s longest running show ‘Supernatural.’
Episode 1 took the principal characters to 1937’s Hindenburg disaster, episode 2 featured the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, while episode 3 took the trio to 1962 Las Vegas.
According to Parade, Kripe talked about the series’ first season. He said, “Right now we are in the mystery phase of the season but the more the story unfolds, the more we will start to understand why Garcia Flynn is doing what he is doing, why he is picking those targets… There is another layer of truth about why he is picking those targets and that will be unveiled throughout the season.”
When asked about their own rules for time travel, Ryan replied, “What I’ve learned on this show is that audiences really give a damn about what your time travel rules are. This is a science, to my knowledge, that doesn’t actually exist in the physical universe, and yet, people are very certain what the rules are. I could ridicule that, but only to my show’s determinant. I have to respect that the audience cares.”
He continued, “So there are some very basic rules: You can’t go back to a place where you’ve existed — either previously in life or where you’ve traveled back. There are no do-overs in our universe. Things might change along the way, but just the basic idea that the universe can’t handle two of you in a space at one time was important to us… Also, once something has changed, they now live in a universe where those things have changed. The people who didn’t go back in time, aren’t aware of the change.”
‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 4, entitled "Party at Castle Varlar", is scheduled to premiere on NBC on October 24, 2016.
