‘iZombie’ season 3’s episode 1, titled “Heaven Just Got a Little Bit Smoother,” will follow Liv as she discovers the presence of more zombies in Seattle. Rose McIver revealed that the upcoming season will be more of a “zombie show” compared to the past seasons.
The synopsis for “Heaven Just Got a Little Bit Smoother” posted on TV Guide reads, “Season 3 begins with Liv (Rose McIver) discovering there are more zombies living in Seattle than she previously believed and that a private military contractor is employing a small zombie army that is preparing for the day humans learn of their existence.
Meanwhile, even though Major (Robert Buckley) was exonerated for the crimes of the Chaos Killer, he is still considered a pariah. He manages to land a job with the only place that will hire him; and Blaine (David Anders) is accused of lying.”
It seems that Liv Moore is about to learn the shocking truth that there are more zombies in Seattle than she previously believed. This is following the arrival of Vivian Stoll’s (Andrea Savage) private zombie army.
During an interview with E! News, McIver explained the “zombie homeland” to be featured heavily in the third season of the comedy-drama and horror television series developed by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright. McIver said, "The zombie homeland sort of speaks to the fact that there are a lot more zombies in Seattle than Liv was aware of.”
She continued, “It becomes more of a zombie show in some ways. Our zombies still aren't exactly the zombies you've seen before, but there's a lot more of us, and so the threat of how these two communities might or might not integrate is kind of what plays out over the season."
Co-star Aly Michalka added, "Really what it means is that zombies would be known on a universal, national level, and it would not be a secret anymore, would not be hidden, and that you know, humans vs. zombies, that could become a thing." Michalka plays Peyton Charles, Liv's best friend.
‘iZombie’ season 3’s episode 1, titled “Heaven Just Got a Little Bit Smoother,” is scheduled to air on The CW on April 4, 2017. It was directed by Dan Etheridge and written by Rob Thomas. It will be followed by episode 2, titled "Zombie Knows Best," directed by Jason Bloom and scheduled to be released on April 11.
