Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, West Virginia University
My interests lie in the areas of Cyber Security, Data Mining, Big Data, and Smart Device. For recent years, by collaborating with my colleagues, I have proposed and developed cloud-based solutions for mining big data in the area of Internet security, especially for malware detection and phishing website detection. My research results have been published in several top conferences such as ACM SIGKDD (2011, 2010, 2009, 2007), as well as top journals such as ACM TIST (2015), IEEE TSMC (2012, 2010), Journal of Intelligent Information System (2010), and Journal in Computer Virology (2009, 2008). The algorithms and systems have been incorporated into popular commercial products, including Comodo Internet Security and Kingsoft Antivirus. In addition, I have been awarded three patents in the area of malware detection and categorization.
