I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography and Planning at Queen's University. My research interests include human-animal relationships, extinction, environmental history, and sound studies. My PhD, funded by a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, explores the cultural history of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. Other research projects have included the environmental conservation of outer space, and the contested relationships between humans and gulls in cities. I hold an MA from the University of Sussex, and a BA (Hons) from the University of Birmingham.
