Michela is a PhD candidate in Media Studies and associate lecturer in Journalism and Visual Media Studies at Bangor University. She is an expert in risk communication and environmental communication, and she is a member and advisor for the Media and Persuasive Communication Network at Bangor. Her research focuses on visual representation of climate change in film and television from a sociological perspective. She is currently the leader and producer of 'Visually Capturing CO2', a series of projects that involves the production of environmental visuals in collaboration with the department of engineering at Swansea University. Her next paper on the role of films in evironmental communication will come out as a chapter in the first "Handbook of Climate Change Communication" in February 2017.
