Lecturer, Media and Communication, UWA, University of Western Australia
I was born in Manjimup in the rural southwest of Western Australia and managed to travel the world before assuming my current position in Media and Communication at the University of Western Australia.
I have also taught at Murdoch, Curtin and Liverpool Universities and am currently engaged in research around public communication, games and the effect of smart phones on humanity.
I've previously published two books 'Democracy in the Age of New Media' and 'Media After Deleuze'. I've also written widely on issues surrounding public communication from the impact of big data on the public sphere to why digital technology struggles to replicate live music experiences.
