Associate Professor, University of Tennessee
Adam Love is an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies at the University of Tennessee. He has authored more than 30 refereed journal articles and book chapters. His scholarly work is driven by a desire to identify and develop ways in which sport and physical activity programs, organizations, and institutions can operate in a more ethical, just, open, democratic, and accessible way. Prominent themes in his research include (a) gender and racial ideology in sport, (b) public sociology and discourse about sport, and (c) people's otivations and experiences in sport participation. Ultimately, these research themes are united by an interest in imagining how sports can be done in such a way that they produce more positive outcomes, more often, for more people.
