Professor Saxe’s primary mathematical interests are spectral theory of linear operators on Banach spaces, complex interpolation of linear operators, Banach algebras, electoral system design and voting theory, the history of mathematics, and national and international mathematics education. She is the recipient of the 2007 MAA-NCS Distinguished Teaching Award, and the 2007 Macalester College Excellence in Teaching Award. She currently serves as MAA Vice President, and editorial board chair of the Anneli Lax New Mathematics Library. She served as the 2013-2014 AMS/AAAS Science and Technology Policy Congressional Fellow, working in Congress for MN Senator Al Franken. Professor Saxe loves to travel, both for math and for non-math.
