Associate Professor and Head of Film and Television at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Previously a Visiting Fellow at the College of Communication, National Cheng Chi University, a Visiting Scholar at the School of Theater, Film and Television at UCLA, and a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Sociology, National University of Singapore. I research and write about the Indonesian and Malaysian film industries, creative industries, Islamic pop culture, and transnational Asian cinema. My monograph "Indonesian Cinema after the New Order: Going Mainstream" will be published by Hong Kong University Press in 2019.
