Plant-based foods are gaining popularity today and many companies are cropping up to introduce new vegan food alternatives. While the “meatless” versions of chicken, beef, and pork are already common these days, a new item has emerged and Crafty Counter has launched plant-based hard-boiled eggs.

This is unique so it has become the very first vegan hard-boiled egg in the world. Crafty Counter launched this food alternative this week and it is being marketed under the Wunderegg brand.

Based on the reports, the Wunderegg plant-based food alternative was made with almonds, coconut milk, black salt, turmeric extract, and cashews. The hard-boiled eggs are set to formally debut in the market by the end of this year. The consumers will be surprised as this looks exactly like the real one and even comes with the same taste and nutrition profile as the chicken eggs.

According to Food Business News, the plant-based WunderEggs does not contain gluten, grains, soy, dairy, and eggs. And unlike the regular chicken eggs, it does not have cholesterol and only has six grams of protein per serving.

It was further shared that Crafty Counter made use of a “proprietary process” to produce the taste and texture that duplicates the real eggs. The product was already sampled by leaders in the food market specializing in vegan alternatives and it is waiting for feedback before the final launch.

“My inspiration for WunderEggs came during the first two weeks of COVID when our country’s food systems began to break down,” Crafty Counter’s founder and chief executive officer, Hema Reddy, said in a press release. “I was already aware of the impact of intensive factory farming on climate change, and the pandemic was just the last straw for me.”

Angela McElwee, former chief of Gaia Herbs added that the experience of eating the plant-based Wundereggs was pure nostalgia. She said that it just tastes and looks exactly like the hard-boiled eggs that everyone knows. McElwee stated that the experience from the sampling was simply mind-blowing.

Meanwhile, Crafty Counter, the maker of the world’s first plant-based hard-boiled eggs was founded in 2017. It produced the WunderNuggets as its first offering in the vegan market. This product was made with vegetables including cauliflower, legumes, and cabbage. The company successfully introduced this and now the WunderEggs are coming.
