Taiwan-based Wistron Corp. (TW:3231), one of Nvidia’s leading manufacturing partners, has officially opened its first U.S. production facility in Fort Worth, Texas, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of America’s artificial intelligence hardware manufacturing industry.
The company invested approximately $700 million in the new plant, where it has already started mass production of Nvidia’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip. The facility is the first in the United States to manufacture this advanced AI chip, reflecting growing demand for high-performance computing infrastructure driven by the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence.
In addition to producing the GB300 platform, the Texas facility will also manufacture Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin Superchip, strengthening Wistron’s role in supporting the AI ecosystem and expanding domestic semiconductor production.
The factory was officially inaugurated by Wistron Chairman Simon Lin alongside Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two companies. Wistron said the new site will become a central hub in its global AI manufacturing network, utilizing Nvidia’s accelerated computing platforms, digital twin technology, and AI-powered software to improve production efficiency and streamline factory operations.
The Texas facility also broadens Wistron’s AI server manufacturing footprint beyond Taiwan. By assembling and testing Nvidia AI systems closer to U.S. customers, the company expects to reduce delivery times, improve supply chain resilience, and better serve growing demand for AI infrastructure across North America.
Huang described the project as part of a broader transformation in global technology manufacturing.
“The largest infrastructure buildout in history is underway,” Huang said, adding that the partnership with Wistron will help restore advanced manufacturing capabilities in Texas while supporting the increasing demand for AI factories and next-generation computing systems.
The opening of Wistron’s Texas plant underscores the accelerating shift toward localized AI hardware production in the United States as technology companies continue investing in domestic manufacturing capacity, advanced semiconductor production, and resilient supply chains to meet surging global demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
