“Westworld” season 3 is finally set to begin its production. Although the waiting has been really long, this new update is enough to give fans some renewed hope that it will be arriving soon.
The Wrap reported that “Westworld” season 3 will start filming this month and this was confirmed by HBO’s programming chief Casey Bloys. The publication was able to talk to him during the cabler’s day at the Television Critics Association press tour that took place just last month. He relayed that the cast and crew will be back on the set soon however, he does not have any information yet about its premiere date.
At any rate, when “Westworld” season 3 returns, fans can expect a very different story. The showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have shared a long time ago that the difference would be huge. In fact, the viewers will not see any similarity from the first two seasons.
“It's a radical shift. What's compelling and appealing about these characters is that they're not human,” Nolan told The Hollywood Reporter. “The hosts have a different version of mortality, a different outlook. They're existential. They span eons. And that's a fascinating level of story to engage in.”
Likewise, Lisa Joy summed up what the viewers will see when “Westworld” season 3 arrives. She said that it is like watching another story since the setting, storyline and even some of the cast has been changed completely.
Aside from the new plot, “Westworld” season 3 will also present new characters like “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul. However, the production team has been tightlipped about the character that he would play in the new installment of Nolan and Lisa Joy’s sci-fi drama.
Meanwhile, “Westworld” season 3 might be released in 2020 since its filming is just about to begin. The drama is a big production that features massive cinematic layouts thus it is likely that it will be out in mid or last quarter of next year.
