As the information drought looming over “Warcraft 3: Reforged” continues to persist, a recent posting has partially quenched the fan base’s desire for more details about the remaster. The posting in question showed the fan art involving the Night Elf race.
While it’s obvious that the character on the right is the Druid of the Talon, the other two are up for debate. The one behind appears to be either the Ancient of Wonders or the Tree of Life for “Warcraft 3: Reforged.”
The archer, on the other hand, seems to be the tier 1 archer unit for the Night Elf or General Shandris. Looking closely at the art, it’s likely that it’s the latter on account that archer units in “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will likely be clad rather scantily.
But it could also be the Dark Ranger as well. After the community picked up the posting, the image has since been removed from Playwarcraft3.com. The reason behind the removal is still unclear although RehcraM – writer and admin at Warcraft3.info – said that it’s likely due to the fact it showed the Dark Ranger rather than an archer. With regards to the development of “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” it appears that Blizzard is still hard at work in polishing the remaster as has been hinted by developer Pete Stilwell’s recent postings.
The remaster has been announced to remain faithful to the story and game mechanics of the original title. However, there are a few things that will be changed in “Warcraft 3: Reforged” such as pathfinding and environmental balance. New graphics, cinematics, and animation will also be added.
As for the story, it appears that “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will be fine-tuning the plot to closely fit the lore of “World of Warcraft.” So when is the remaster coming out? Unfortunately, Blizzard has yet to announced anything on this front but did assure that it’s going to come out this year. There will also be a beta version that will arrive before the official launching, although when that will be is also unknown as of this writing.
