WISeKey International Holding Ltd, a leading cybersecurity company, has released WISeID – a special edition of the Digital Identification and cyber-resilience app that integrates blockchain technology.

“WISeKey's WISeID offers a secured storage to protect personally identifiable information (PII)”, the website reads. “The personal data that you save in WISeID always stays under your control, is encrypted with strong keys derived from a password that you choose and only you know, and is never communicated to third parties.”

WISeID serves as a two-factor authentication technology that sits on top of a blockchain. The WISeID BlockChain is constantly growing as new blocks are added to it with a new set of recordings. Upon joining the WISeID network, each WISeID node gets a copy of the WISeID BlockChain and gets downloaded automatically.

WISeID stores passwords in an encrypted vault, generates strong passwords, and safely synchronizes data between computers and devices on multiple platforms, using secure cloud storage. The vault can be unlocked only with the user’s Master Password and/or defined pattern. Users can also add facial recognition authentication feature for additional protection. WISeID can be accessed online through a single click.

The WISeID BlockChain operates with the WISeID Kaspersky Lab Security cyber-resilience edition that uses the digital identification to lock personal data (account usernames and passwords, credit card numbers and access PINs) into a secure personal data organizer, creating accountable identities for online activity, while protecting the data in a secure cloud vault.

The WISeID Kaspersky Mobile Security SDK includes a strong and proven solution for protecting mobile phones against security threats. The inclusion of SDK in the app delivers advanced security features like web & network protection, device protection and risk detection to smartphones.
