3 ways to get rid of Visceral fat

One of the challenges many have nowadays, especially women, is losing weight or shedding the belly fat. As it is located in the abdominal cavity, visceral fat poses many health threats, but fortunately there are ways to reduce it.

Belly fat, especially in women, is a result of many factors. MayoClinic reports that women tend to gain fat at the abdomen as they age, most likely due to decreasing estrogen levels, which are responsible for distributing fat through the body. This is why women tend to gain more fat in the abdominal area after menopause.

Another factor is consuming a lot of calories with less physical activity. In keeping with physical activity, muscle mass also tends to decrease with age, so it becomes more difficult to maintain a healthy weight the older a person gets.

While increased physical activity alone can help burn the calories one consumes, the food that is being consumed is the most important part of all. Diet makes up 70% of the factors that make up weight loss and some of the kinds of food needed to lose weight are made up of low-fat dairy, protein, and whole grains.

Breaking it down, Express reports that low-fat dairy helps shorten the time needed to burn fat. Many studies have found that low-fat dairy foods resulted in a bigger weight loss. Switching full-fat milk to low-fat or skim milk or yogurt with low-fat yogurt is a good way to start losing visceral fat.

Protein, lean protein most especially, is famously known to help in weight loss for a reason. Switching pork and beef to chicken or some other kind of lean meat is recommended in order to get rid of visceral fat in the body. Protein is needed in many bodily functions, including cell maintenance and blood clotting and repair. It also affects the hormones that control hunger, resulting in eating less, especially in between meals or late nights.

Whole grains are also famously known to help in shedding fat as well. Incorporating whole grains in a diet can help aid in weight loss. As it is digested at a much slower rate in the body, eating whole grains can result in a person feeling fuller for a longer period of time.
