Fans are still waiting for the “Vinland Saga” Season 3 confirmation. Avid viewers of the anime series are accustomed to adversity, and not just because of everything Thorfinn Thordarson has had to endure throughout this truly epic narrative.
After Season 1 debuted in 2019, fans had to wait four years for Season 2, but it was well worth the wait. While casual anime fans laud shows like "Demon Slayer," those in the know will be the first to point out how unique “Vinland Saga” is, especially with this nearly faultless second season.
It is, without a doubt, one of the best anime shows on Netflix. But, fans continue to wonder when the third installment will arrive or if it will even be made into a reality. Here is everything we know so far about the rumored “Vinland Saga” Season 3.
‘Vinland Saga’ Season 3 Release Date
Following the premiere of “Vinland Saga” in 2019, the second season was not formally announced until 2022 before being released in full this year. That means “Vinland Saga” Season 3 may not be announced until 2024 for a 2025 release, per Digital Spy.
Less than 100 chapters of Makoto Yukimura's original manga have been adapted, but there are still plenty of things to tell in “Vinland Saga” Season 3 and beyond. Let us hope that a renewal takes place.
Takahiko Abiru, the character designer for the anime series, seemed optimistic, as he took the opportunity to thank the workers who worked on the last season while also teasing that Thorfinn's voyage "will continue." It might not be an official “Vinland Saga” Season 3 confirmation, but it surely is promising.
‘Vinland Saga’ Season 3 Cast
Should things push through, per Comic Book, the majority of both the Japanese and English voice actors are expected to make a return in “Vinland Saga” Season 3, including Thorfinn Thordarson, voiced by Yuto Uemura (Japanese) and Aleks Le (English); Einar, voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi (Japanese) and Alejandro Saab (English); Canute voiced by Kensho Ono (Japanese) and Griffin Burns (English); Thorkell voiced by Akio Otsuka (Japanese) and Patrick Seitz (English), and; Leif Erikson voiced by Yoji Ueda (Japanese) and John Swasey (English).
Even long-gone characters are likely to reappear in flashbacks or nightmare dream sequences, something this show can't get enough of. As Thorfinn traverses the world, a slew of new voice actors will join the ensemble, so expect to hear more about them as “Vinland Saga” Season 3 approaches.
‘Vinland Saga’ Season 3 Spoilers
The upcoming “Vinland Saga” Season 3 should follow Thorfinn and Einar's journey in the Eastern Expedition Arc after they met as slaves on the Ketil farm in Season 2 - if the show continues to follow the source manga as faithfully as it has up to now.
Without giving too much away, “Vinland Saga” Season 3 will take place in Greece following a four-year time jump. Thorfinn and Einar want to accumulate enough riches and resources to finally construct their own nation free of violence, but as you can think, this will be a difficult undertaking. But if anyone can do it, it's our favorite bromance, #Thornar, as we'll refer to them from now on.
