Ride-sharing giant Uber has been announced as the new naming rights partner for the Berlin Arena, succeeding German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. The long-term agreement between Uber and sports and entertainment company AEG Europe will take effect on March 22nd.
SportCal reported that the the venue and its surrounding retail area will be officially renamed Uber Arena, Uber Eats Music Hall, and Uber Platz, respectively.
Enhanced Guest Experiences and Improved Transportation Options
Uber and AEG Europe, as per Access All Areas, have expressed their commitment to enhancing guest experiences at the newly named venues. The companies plan to achieve this by providing improved transportation services and introducing new food and beverage options during events. Detailed plans for these enhancements will be announced in the coming months.
Christoph Weigler, Head of Uber Germany, expressed his excitement about the naming rights partnership, stating, "We couldn't hope for a better way to celebrate Uber's tenth anniversary in Germany." Weigler sees this unique investment as a solid testament to Uber's commitment to German cities, specifically acknowledging Berlin's vibrant art, culture, and sports scene.
According to Paul Samuels, Executive Vice President for AEG global partnerships, the collaboration with Uber is a significant milestone. AEG Europe and Uber aim to create an exceptional customer journey and guest experience. Samuels expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude to Mercedes-Benz and Verti, the previous naming rights partners, for their collaboration over the past eight and six years, respectively.
