McDonald's Japan is launching a new take on its peculiar Graccoro sandwich, this time with Angus beef and red wine just in time for the Holidays.
The Angus Beef Bolognese Gracoro burger sandwich has a Gracoro patty topped with Bolognese sauce made with ground Angus beef, red wine, and tomatoes.
McDonald's Japan revived its already peculiar original Gracoro Burger, a winter favorite in Japan since it was launched in 1993, for a limited run beginning December 1.
The original Gracoro Burger has a patty made of croquette filled with shrimp and macaroni in a creamy white sauce packed into a crispy-friend panko shell. It also includes cabbage, and mayonnaise served on a buttered and steamed bun and includes croquette sauce, which is similar to Worcestershire sauce.
The Gracoro Burger gets its name from a combination of "gratin" and "korokke," the Japanese take on the croquette.
The original Gracoro Burger could be another reason to travel to Japan this Holiday. The product is usually unavailable for the rest of the year, so its devoted fan base rushes out to get it.
