At this point, it’s no secret that hardcore fans have a huge problem with how the last season of “Game of Thrones” is being handled, particularly with regards to the so-called “Battle of Winterfell.” With this being the case, a recent comment by George R.R. Martin has sparked hopes for “The Winds of Winter.” Specifically, readers are crossing their fingers for the ending and the plot to be handled better than the series.
One of the most interesting developments with regards to what “The Winds of Winter” will be about is the matter of Lady Stoneheart. Those who have read the existing books already know that Catelyn Stark is still alive courtesy of Beric Donarrion. It would seem that her point of view will be included in the sixth installment Business Times, reports.
"That's certainly, in the book I'm writing now, an important thread," George R.R. Martin said. "Even with a novel of ordinary size, when you adapt it for television or film, it usually involves cutting or simplifying, and my books are not books are ordinary length...There are hard choices sometimes, but that's the business."
This particular detail is encouraging for a lot of fans since it means that “The Winds of Winter” could have a completely different plotline compared to what “Game of Thrones” presented. It’s a well-known fact that as of season 6, the quality of the story has gone down noticeably. This is why the final season has been such a disappointment for a lot of those who pay attention to details like that.
With hope invigorated among readers, it is even more imperative now for “The Winds of Winter” to come out. It will essentially be the saving grace to the legacy of this legendary series that has sparked the imaginations of legions. The TV show might have been something of a letdown, but the book could change everything.
