The Arts & Crafts Community Voted Stuff Pack has been in the works for several months now, and more details are being released recently to tease “The Sims 4” players. On the latest update, developers previewed a design of the rocking chair to included in the collection.
‘The Sims 4’ content updates
Polls for the upcoming Stuff Pack commenced late last year when it was decided that the overall theme is going to be Arts & Crafts. Later on, fans decided that the main focus of the content pack should be knitting. This makes having a rocking chair pertinent to complete the experience.
Maxis game designer SimGuruConor revealed in a blog post that that rocking chairs would work like regular chairs in the game, but with some qualities specific to this item. “Sims will be able to do things like talk, watch TV, listen to music, read books, and knit while on a rocking chair,” the developer stated. “If it works while sitting, we’ll try to make it work while rocking.”
Rocking chairs are also commonly associated with elderly people, which are also present in “The Sims 4.” So it would be a missed opportunity for the developers not to do something on the rocking chairs that appeal specifically to the in-game Elders. SimGuruConor revealed that Elders sitting on the upcoming rocking chairs could access the action called Reminisce. As the feature’s name suggests, it will allow Elders to relive memories that may or may not be pleasant.
Maxis have other features planned for the rocking chairs and the upcoming Stuff Pack that SimGuruConor decided to keep hidden at this point. Also, related to the Arts & Crafts content, “The Sims 4” players will soon have access to “Plopsy.” It functions as a virtual market for all the Sims’ arts & crafts projects. Items created even outside the next Stuff Pack can also be sold or purchased on Plopsy.
‘The Sims 5’ release date speculations
In the remaining months of the year, EA confirmed that there are also Game Pack and Expansion Pack planned for release. The company likely wants to maximize the added popularity TS4 has been getting now that many people are ordered to stay home to maintain social distancing.
However, this also means there is no way “The Sims 5” is getting announced in 2020. With this much content still yet to be delivered to TS4 players, it signals that the next game is not arriving anytime soon.
