A series of tweet answered an all-important argument surrounding the highly-anticipated movie “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
iO9 reports that several tweets detailing the foreign-language titles of the next “Star Wars” film confirmed that the word “Jedi” is actually referred to a group of Jedi, and not just a single person. The tweet from Twitter handle @StarWarsFR showed a photo of the French title, which read “Les Derniers Jedi.” @StarWarsSpain tweeted the Spanish version, which read “Los Ultimos Jedi.” @StarWarsDE shared a similar tweet, but in German, which read, “Die Letzten Jedi.” All translates to “group of Jedi.”
On the other hand, IGN said the translation still leaves another question unanswered: who will be the last Jedi standing? It could be recalled that in the last pivotal scene of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Rei (Daisy Ridley) is left trying to hand out the fabled lightsaber to her potential mentor, a weary-looking, bearded Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). A Reddit fan said that obviously Rei will be the other Jedi, given her display of powers.
“Was it not safe to assume she found Luke in Episode 7 and was already a Jedi in the making. I'm not understanding where all the hype about the title being plural is coming from. That should have already been implied,” the fan said.
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will debut on December 15 this year. Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and the late Carrie Fisher returns to the film.
