Fans of the scarlet speedster will be glad to know that Central City is safe and well after the awesome season finale of “The Flash” season 4. Yet the show's executive producer, Todd Helbing, made a couple of teases regarding the “The Flash” season 5's direction.
Season 4 gave us the near-catatonic Harry Wells, played by Tom Cavanagh, who was thankfully saved at the last minute by Cisco Ramon, played by Carlos Valdes. Unfortunately, Wells' diminished mental state meant that he had to leave the team, but hopefully for a better life with his daughter in Earth-Two.
With season 4's ending leaving a lot of uncertainty for the rest of Team Flash, at least fans are sure now that Cisco won't be leaving anytime soon to replace Danny Trejo's Breacher, as many fans have speculated in the past.
For those interested in more details about Cisco, fans will be glad to know that Helbing mentioned some challenges heading the character's way. During the San Diego Comic-Con panel for “The Flash,” Helbing mentioned that Cisco will be met with an extreme challenge to his powers as Vibe in season 5. This comes with the note that Helbing also mentioned “a lot of deaths” for the next season.
With Helbing's announcement, Fans may worry that Cisco might not make it out alive from season 5 after having to endure the breakup with Gypsy, portrayed by Jessica Camacho. But they'll be glad to know that it's been confirmed that Cisco has good friends in Ralph and Caitlin, who will be helping the genius engineer out of his rut.
Fans can look forward to the premiere of “The Flash” season 5 on Oct. 9 with most of Team Flash intact. Fans can also expect the return of Tom Cavanagh as Harry Wells, but a different version of himself that was not the victim of his own creation.
