The favorite show on History, “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 has finally returned and its episode 2 is up next. The grand premiere happened on Nov. 10 and so fans were able to see the continuation after the seventh installment’s finale.

The series opened with Rick and Mary Lagina talking about the coronavirus pandemic and its effect on the world. They also mentioned how filming for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 was affected by the protocols but assured they are back on track.

Episode recap

In the premiere episode, the team was shown scouring some parts of the island. They also inspected the places where they found remarkable structures and finds in their previous diggings. In particular, they focused on Samuel Ball and Daniel McGinnis’ properties for another archeological dig in the area.

On the other hand, Gary Drayton has been using his metal detecting skills on another surface. He found a spot with lots of metals and he is convinced that there are lots of gold and silver underneath the dirt. He changed his metal detecting equipment to a bigger one which is called the CTX 3030.

Gary found a ship’s rigging ax and he said it is really old. Later, he also discovered a coin that he suspected was from the 1700s, judging by the shape of the coin and the square hole in the middle.

Most probably, the highlight in “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 episode 1 was the discovery of gold in the water. Tyler Newton, the diver, found gold but unfortunately, it slipped through his fingers. He could not retrieve it due to the murky water and the depth that it has fallen into.

What to expect next

More rocks and gravel were transported to the island last weekend but lots of equipment were also seen leaving. Cofferdam materials are arriving as well and there’s also a dozer and little roller.

But then again, residents of the island could still not figure out what the cofferdam materials were for as they didn’t see any work involving the cofferdam items. Probably, its purpose will be revealed on “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 episode 2.

Airdate and where to watch
