‘The Winds of Winter’: Fans lash out at George RR Martin for not finishing ‘TWOW’ and accused of not caring about the readers

“The Winds of Winter” is still nowhere in sight and it appears that some fans are already fed up with waiting. As a result, frustrated fans slammed George RR Martin for the continuous delay of the book’s publishing.

The backlash came earlier this month after GRRM updated his social media with a photo of himself and posting a “Happy Halloween!” greeting. While he seems to have good intentions in sending this message to his followers, many reacted in a bad way and slammed him instead.

GRRM on social media

George RR Martin always updates his blog site and social media outlets with his activities. He also shares happenings and even mundane things such as what he has been doing all day.

Recently, most of his posts on his “Not a Blog” page were about the results in the game of football. He loves the sport and constantly watches the games on TV since he is in the mountains right now since the pandemic hit.

He also discusses some current issues and comments on random things but the problem is - he has not been posting any update about “The Winds of Winter.” Thus, what fans are seeing is that he has been procrastinating again and rather than writing, he has been watching the games and doing other stuff.

What the fans think and saying

Fans are fed up as they unleashed their frustrations by leaving comments on GRRM’s Twitter post about Halloween. They are saying that he should have not written the book if he doesn’t intend to finish them. Most of the words were harsh as they even mentioned that at this rate, they will never see “The Winds of Winter” because he could die without picking up his pens again to write.

“You’re a great writer but a very small Man,” a Twitter user wrote. “No respect for your readers and I deeply regret buying your books. You’ve responsibilities related to your success.”

Another one said: “I remember you saying that if the Winds of Winter isn’t out by July 29, 2020, the fans can imprison George Martin. Therefore, I would like you to send us your location so we can proceed with the rest. Come on man, stick to your word and release the book!”

There is one fan who wrote that GRRM may be regretting selling his story to HBO now because the ending was affected. And now, he can’t even think of how he will write his own conclusion of “The Winds of Winter.”

Meanwhile, Express reported that fans just want George RR Martin to be honest. They are asking him to reveal the actual percentage that he has completed “The Winds of Winter” because at this point, they may never believe him anymore and they are not just losing patience but interest in the book as well.
