The eighth season of “The Curse of Oak Island” is likely to happen as there are still lots to explore on Nova Scotia’s world-famous island. Rick, Marty Lagina, and their team of experts may have failed to locate the Money Pit in season 7, but they made astounding discoveries that needed to be investigated more.
Renewed or canceled?
History Channel has yet to issue a renewal notice for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8. But even without it at this time, the followers of the show are convinced that the network will not cancel the show since it is popular and has high viewership ratings and always occupies the top spot on cable ranking.
Moreover, as the team slowly uncovers the mysteries of Oak Island, the curiosity of the people is heightened; thus, the number of viewers continues to grow. Thus, the renewal of “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 is predicted to be announced as soon as the coronavirus pandemic eases.
What to expect in season 8
The next installment will surely pick up from where it left off in season 7. This means that Rick and Marty Lagina will keep on digging around the island, and this includes Samuel Ball’s land where they found a tunnel. Their suspicion that Ball found the Money Pit when he arrived on the island in the late 1700s was intensified and now they need to see where the tunnel leads and what could have been stored there.
Also, they are planning a new technique so they can dig deeper in shaft 9 that they believed is the location of the original Money Pit. This will be carried in “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8. The Laginas also mentioned in the finale of season 7 that they will need funds but they will make sure to find it so they can return to Oak Island and solve the 225-year-old mystery.
Release date
Meanwhile, when renewed, “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 may begin their search again when it is all clear to go back to Nova Scotia, and of course, if they have the funds already. The coronavirus pandemic is one reason why the team can’t go back to their work on the island yet. The earliest possible release date of this show is in the last quarter of 2021.
