Tesla's Flood Resilience Tested by Dubai's Historic Rainfall

Tesla vehicles showcase impressive flood resilience during Dubai's most severe rainfall in 75 years.

As Dubai experienced its heaviest rainfall in 75 years, Tesla vehicles were spotted expertly maneuvering through the city's severely flooded streets. Social media footage shows these electric vehicles crossing water-logged areas, suggesting a surprising resilience to such extreme conditions.

Teslas Navigate Through Floodwaters

Driving an electric vehicle into very deep water is not advised, especially not for an extended period of time. This includes even the tallest models, such as the Cybertruck. However, according to Teslarati, when obliged to traverse a body of water, it seems more sensible to drive a Tesla than a combustion-powered car.

Social media users shocked the world with images from Dubai, posting pictures and videos of the city being hit by the most rain in 75 years. Two years of rain fell on the city in one day, causing extensive flooding, apartment damage, and many stranded cars.

Social media users' videos and pictures of their experiences in the city's flooded streets stood out. One such instance was a TikTok video that amassed millions of views. In the video, a passenger in a Tesla was seen traveling through a flooded region. The Tesla appeared unharmed despite passing through a very deep puddle of water, as seen in the video.

Videos of another Tesla taking on a flooded street in X attracted much attention. The purported passenger in the car, who goes by the username @MisterSpread, stated that the Model 3 did make it across the flooded portion of the road despite the original posts suggesting that it did not. In addition, the X user mentioned that the car in the video was an Uber and that there was no water leakage into the cabin.

Historic Rainfall Tests Tesla's Durability in Dubai

In the video's comments section, several viewers expressed amazement at the Model 3's ability to manage flooded roadways. Although Tesla does not advise its users to drive their cars across deep water, the all-electric cars' performance on Dubai's flooded streets was nevertheless outstanding.
