Having been in business for slightly over a month in the first quarter of 2024, Tesla has intensified its promotional activities and discounts in Australia.
Exclusive Offers for Tesla Owners: Full Self-Driving Transfers and Cybertruck Holder Discounts on New Purchases
Tim Eden reports that until the end of the month, Tesla is offering existing owners a complimentary transfer of its Full Self-Driving software if they purchase a new Model 3 or Model Y. Cybertruck reservation holders are now eligible for a $1,500 discount on one of these brand-new EVs.
Chris Q, a dedicated subscriber of The Driven, discovered this offer over the weekend. According to Tesla's local Instagram page, cybertruck reservation holders in Australia will be eligible for a discount if they purchase and receive a Tesla Model 3 Tesla Y by the end of this quarter.
As stated by Tesla in the post: "Cybertruck reservation holders have access to an AUD1,500/NZD1,600 discount on Model 3 and Model Y purchases when delivered before 31 March 2024."
This indicates that the discount is also accessible in New Zealand, which makes it appealing to Cybertruck reservation holders in both nations. However, their favored vehicle may not arrive in Australia for some time, even though it is available in Japan, the largest right-hand market.
Among the first occasions, a discount offer has been extended for the recently redesigned Tesla Model 3, for which local deliveries commenced in December 2023.
Tesla Rolls Out Special Discounts for Cybertruck Reservation Holders on Model 3 and Model Y Purchases
Taking advantage of the $1,500 discount, consumers can acquire a brand-new Model 3 for as little as $60,400 with this offer. This represents a reduction from the initial price of $61,900, excluding state subsidies or on-road expenses (if applicable).
Likewise, the Model Y is available for $63,900, representing a reduction from its original price of $65,400, exclusive of state subsidies or on-road expenses. The number of local cybertruck reservation holders in both countries is still being determined. Still, the number is likely substantial if Tesla promotes the discount to a broader consumer base.
This offer is only valid for current Tesla Cybertruck reservation holders, as Tesla does not permit new consumers to make reservations for the vehicle.
According to The Driven, the "Get Updates" icon has been added to the Australian Cybertruck website by Tesla, increasing production of the steel-bodied vehicle in Austin, Texas.
Hundreds of order holders in designated regions of the United States have received their vehicles since the company began shipping to customers in November. Additionally, it has been displayed in North American dealerships and automotive industry events.
The company has recently introduced the Cybertruck to Asia, with the initial shipment of vehicles arriving in China in January.
Subsequently, Tesla initiated roadshows in South Korea after Japan. In the future months, the company will likely have a vehicle available for display in numerous nations, such as Australia and New Zealand.
It would appear that Tesla is attempting to surpass its record-breaking 10,407 EV sales in the first three months of 2023, given that it is utilizing an additional demand lever to accelerate EV sales in the first quarter of 2024.
It would require an enormous endeavor over the past two months to reach that point, given that January 2024 saw only 1,107 sales. The organization will be able to maintain the robust momentum of EV adoption that it established in 2023.
