LAS VEGAS, April 06, 2016 -- Telguard, a leader in wireless alarm communications, interactive and home automation services, today announced a new service offering to help security dealers upgrade customers in these last few months leading up to the 2G Sunset. For a low, flat fee of $9.95 per month, security dealers receive hardware, interactive services, video, truck roll reimbursement, and future replacement hardware when the included communicator becomes obsolete.
The Telguard Freedom Program was designed to provide a life preserver to residential security dealers who have 2G cellular communicators still in the field, and in particular, those who have procrastinated in addressing this replacement project. The Telguard Freedom service offering sets dealers free from the potential to lose accounts, free from the cost of additional manpower and truck rolls, and free from the investment in replacement hardware.
“Though we’ve all known for years that the 2G Sunset is an impending fact, new business was a priority over replacing 2G units in the field. The Telguard Freedom Program comes at a time when many security dealers are scrambling to ensure that all customers remain connected and protected well beyond this Sunset,” said John Loud, President of LOUD Security. “As an early adopter of this subscription-based program I see the financial value in having no upfront costs and getting $50 towards every truck roll.”
With Telguard Freedom, security dealers can take advantage of the product that best meets their customers' needs without having to pay for it upfront. Telguard retains ownership of the device and dealers gain access to the use of Telguard hardware in order to facilitate the communications subscription and other benefits of the program. They can choose between the TG-1 Express CDMA for traditional panels and the TG-SCI dual-path communicator for self-contained panels. The low monthly subscription fee includes the following RMR-boosting features:
Cellular Service
- Telguard’s monthly cellular service is included in the Telguard Freedom Program flat rate. When combining the TG-SCI with SafetyNet, Telguard’s pay-on-demand cellular service, dealers can save an additional two dollars per month bringing the service fee to as low as $7.95.
Interactive Services and Video
- Dealers can entice customers to upgrade by giving them the ability to remotely arm, disarm, and receive security system notifications via their smartphone with HomeControl Flex™. Video service with Arlo cameras (cameras sold separately through distribution) can also be included for no additional charge.
Future Sunset Protection
- Every Telguard Freedom subscription includes free hardware upgrades whenever the included communicator becomes obsolete.
$50 Installation Reimbursement
- Telguard puts $50 in the dealer’s pocket with every confirmed Telguard Freedom activation.
“We feel that it is our responsibility to help security dealers get through the Sunset and stay in business,” said Shawn Welsh, SVP Product Line Management and Marketing, Telular Corporation. “The subscription based model has been a great success in Telguard’s sister company SkyBitz, so it made sense to introduce it to the security industry as a way to facilitate 2G upgrades and offer protection from future technology obsolescence. With this service model Telguard assumes all of the risk and security dealers can realize an increase of 30% in profits.”
The Telguard Freedom Program is available for a limited time and the program ends when the 2G Sunset arrives, so security dealers are encouraged to take advantage of the service today.
