Kirito and Asuna did not make it on time to log out from the Underworld while Alice was able to return to the real world. In “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 22, Rinko and the others are expected to do whatever they can to help Kirito and Asuna to get back to the world they came from.

“Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 21 has been titled "Beyond Time" and it showed what happened after Kirito and Asuna were left trapped in the Underworld after they failed to log out. Supposedly, only Kirito should have been left in the UW since Alice and Asuna made it to the Worlds End Altar on time, however, Asuna did not log out after Alice since Kirito did not make it.
Back in the real world, Koujiro Rinko retrieves Alice’s light cube when she heard Asuna telling her that she will stay since Kirito will be left all alone in the UW. As for Gabriel Miller, he may have returned to the real world too but he was shocked to find his body already dead. His soul was also hauled to hell which is understandable for all the terrible things he did.
With Vassago and Miller already gone, one of the remaining men of Gabriel named Critter decided to run away. But before he leaves, he wants revenge so he planted a bomb in Ocean Turtle’s main engine.
Fortunately, Akihiko Kayaba saw the explosives and he was able to diffuse them before they detonate. At the UW, Kirito and Asuna can’t do anything about being trapped in the virtual world so they just started to explore the place together.

The upcoming “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 22 will show Higa Takeru telling Kirito and Asuna that they will try everything to log them out. One of the plans was to open the bulkhead hatch however, unknown to him and his allies, Gabriel’s people discovered about this plan.
Also, in the real world, Critter will try to capture Alice in "Sword Art Online: Alicization War Of Underworld" episode 22. He will not stop until he can get his hands on her but surely, Rinko and the others will protect Alice as Asuna already told them to do so since people will be interested in her.
Release date
“Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 22 is simply called “Alice” so it is likely to focus on her story as she returns to the real world. This will be released on Sept. 13 as per Otakukart. There is only one more episode to go before the Alicization - War of the Underworld arc ends.
