‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 9, titled “Supergirl Lives,” will feature the blossoming romance between Kara and Mon-El. However, Mon-El’s secret may threaten their relationship. Meanwhile, the Dominators may make an appearance on the series.
According to Christian Times, the return of ‘Supergirl’ on The CW will feature the continuing romantic storyline between Kryptonian Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Daxamite Mon-El a.k.a. Mike Matthews (Chris Wood). The two shared a kiss during season 2’s mid-season finale after they developed feelings for each other.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, “The chemistry between Chris and Melissa is definitely palpable, and we’re loving writing their characters together.”
Kreisberg continued, “The next episode is a big Kara/Mon-El story that we’re really excited about. They’re both obviously playing coy about what happened, neither admitting that they actually did kiss, so how and when that comes out is going to be fun and delicious.”
Mon-El believed that he would die after being infected by Medusa, a virus released by Project Cadmus that was meant to kill extraterrestrials. Medusa was first mentioned by the real Hank Henshaw when he trespassed into Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.
While affected, Mon-El had a heart-to-heart talk with Kara and proceeded to kiss her. However, it seems that Mon-El has aliens hunting him down and this may threaten his blossoming romance with Kara.
It seems that The Dominators will make an appearance on the show in the incoming episode to track Kara down on Earth-38. The Dominators were last seen defeated by The Flash's newly formed superhero team in the unique crossover special during the “Arrowverse” event but it seems that the villainous alien race has not been completely exterminated.
Perhaps Kara will have to deal with The Dominators without the help of her superhero allies Green Arrow and The Flash.
‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 9, titled “Supergirl Lives," is set to premiere on The CW on January 23, 2017. It was directed by Kevin Smith with a story by Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Eric Carrasco and Jess Kardos.
