“Steven Universe” Season 5 Episode 27 will have severe implications for the plot going forward as Steven and Connie have now been thrown in prison. The previous episode saw both characters foolishly breaking Diamond protocols that have been observed in thousands of years.
It also highlighted the fact that the Diamonds couldn’t be reasoned with, a tactic that has worked for Steven in the past but failed remarkably during the ball. But their outrage is somewhat justified given that they are in front of their court; they are expected to act according to their station. Steven threw all of that away by dancing merrily when he was explicitly forbidden to do such a thing in the first place. On top of that, he also fused with Connie to the horrors of Blue and Yellow. “Steven Universe” Season 5 Episode 27 will be dealing with the aftermath of Steven and Connie’s foolishness.
Did they really think that it was alright to break the rules that have been put in place and enforced for countless millennia? And not only that but to do it in front of the entire Diamond court? Looking at it, it was Connie’s fault that pulled everything down. Steven was doing fine before Connie got the brilliant idea to dance in the middle of the ballroom. While their situation is dire enough at the moment, “Steven Universe” Season 5 Episode 27 will surely ramp up the tension if White Diamond gets involved.
This is doubly true since White has been portrayed as someone who is authoritative and who strictly follows the rules to the letter. It’s still unclear what punishment will be levied on Steven and his friends but it’s not going to be pretty, especially since they showed delinquency in front of everyone in attendance. Blue, Yellow, and White need to maintain their reputation and they couldn’t afford to appear soft to their subjects. “Steven Universe” Season 5 Episode 27 is titled “Escapism” and will surely bring a lot of consequences on the heads of Steven and co.
