Starbucks Japan announced that its latest offering in its dessert drink lineup, the "Sakura Saku Saku Matcha Frappuccino”, would feature whipped cream liberally sprinkled with its Sakura Saku Saku Topping, which gives it a scattered cherry blossom look.
With the Sakura Saku Saku Matcha Frappuccino, which is translated in English as the “Crunchy Blooming Cherry Blossom Green Tee Frappuccino”, Starbucks stays coy as to what the topping is.
But the texture and color of “Sakura Saku Saku” implies that it’s crushed strawberry macron pieces.
Underneath the topping is the Matcha Cream Frappuccino.
The drink, priced at 570 yen for a short size, officially goes on sale on March 1 but has been available since February 24 for those using Starbucks Japan’s mobile order and payment app. It’ll be available until March 14.
