Song Joong Ki has been in show business for a long time. And while the use of social media became popular, the actor never opens an account in any of the leading platforms. This is why there are many accounts that were being created in the name of SJK.
Statement from the actor’s managing company
The problem is - there are people who are taking advantage of Song Joong Ki’s lack of social media page. They started creating one and posed like they are the “real” Joong Ki.
Situations like this always lead to trouble, so the actor’s new agency, History D&C, stepped up to warn fans before anything unpleasant happens. The company reiterated that Song Joong Ki doesn’t have a social media account, so it means that all the existing ones with his name are not his nor the agency’s.
Those are fakes; thus fans should be wary of interacting with them because there’s a possibility that those accounts could be used to scam people. These can also be utilized to spread false news, so History deemed it proper to warn everyone.
On July 21, the agency issued a warning via its official Twitter account. The statement was written in both Korean and English since Song Joong Ki has fans all over the world. They also mentioned another actor talent in the company which is Yang Kyung Won.
"Our actors Song Joong Ki and Yang Kyung Won do not have their own social media outlets,” the statement reads. “HiSTORY D&C and our affiliated actors do not demand any money and valuables or personal information under any circumstances whatsoever. We hope this clears any misunderstandings for our fans. Thank you.”
Song Joong Ki’s current project
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki just finished filming his sci-fi movie called “Space Sweepers” and in the midst of filming “Bogota.” The latter should have been completed by now as well but the production was forced to stop due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is believed that filming for the movie will resume next year. Then again, this does not mean that he has no project these days. In fact, he was said to be starring in a drama called “Vincenzo.”
As per Hankook Ilbo Song Joong Ki already sat down for a meeting with its director. History also confirmed that the actor is checking the script for this new project. If the deal will be closed, he is likely to star in it with actress Jeon Yeo Bin.
