Song Joong Ki has not been seen lately, and there are not many updates about him too. The actor has been quiet since his divorce from Song Hye Kyo broke out in June, and the only news about him was some details about his new movie called “Victory.”
Now, this week, the actor appeared again on the headlines following the announcement that he is leaving his agency, Blossom Entertainment. The actor has been under this management for seven years, and this month, he will no longer sign a new contract to extend his stay with the company.
The actor’s decision not to re-sign with Blossom
Korea’s My Daily reported that Song Joong Ki is set to leave the agency as the year ends officially. It was noted that the actor’s contract with Blossom Entertainment is expiring on Dec. 31, but he has no plans to renew. The contract that he signed when he joined the agency has been in effect since February 2013.
Based on the reports, the actor and his agency are parting amicably. Both sides agreed with the actor’s decision; thus, they will be able to maintain a good relationship even if he is not with them anymore.
Which agency will Joong Ki sign up next?
With the news of Song Joong Ki not renewing his contract with Blossom Entertainment, many agencies have expressed their wish to welcome the actor in their agency. Likewise, the actor is a free agent in two weeks, and most companies want to strike a deal with him.
However, there are rumors that he is set to sign with Kakao M. South China Morning Post reported that Song Joong Ki might move once his contract expires at the end of this year, but this is a confusing claim because the agency allegedly denied the claims.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki had a number of successful projects under Blossom Entertainment. He did many hit dramas that include the “Descendants of the Sun,” “The Battleship Island” and
“Arthdal Chronicles.” Despite his successful projects, his personal life hit a bump when he and Song Hye Kyo split up in June.
