Song Hye Kyo may possibly be the next artist to be called by health officials and be requested to be quarantined. This is because she was one of the Korean stars who attended the Milan Fashion Week in Italy last month.
The actress’ possible exposure to Coronavirus
It was reported that singer Chungha was also in that event, and after returning to South Korea, two of her staff tested positive for the Covid-19 disease. This is why the 24-year-old has already been quarantined.
Asia One reported people had been advised against attending gatherings with a large group of people. As part of the precautionary measures against the coronavirus, people are advised to avoid large group activities, but the Milan Fashion Week still proceeded as scheduled from Feb. 18 to 24. Many Korean artists that include Song Hye Kyo, Chungha, IU, and Black Pink’s Lisa were there, so the YG’s idol singer is also at risk of being quarantined.
The two staff who accompanied Chungha at the said event have been confirmed to have contracted the virus, so they are currently being treated. As for the 24-year-old “At the End” singer, her tests returned a negative result, but still, the Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention asked her to be put in isolation and observation.
It was said that the group of Korean artists, Song Hye Kyo included, moved together when they were in Italy as they are going to the same event. They also stayed in the same hotel, so there is a chance that they could have been exposed to Covid-19 since Chungha’s two staff members had tested positive when they returned to South Korea.
Hye Kyo’s response
At this time, Song Hye Kyo or her management, United Artists Agency, has not said anything about the issue yet. She has not received any notice to be quarantined as well, but this is not to say that she is already cleared.
Meanwhile, South Korea is now the second country in the world with the highest number of infected people. As of March 1, the country is dealing with 4,200 Coronavirus cases, and 22 people have already died. Italy is the third country with the most number of cases, recording 1,700 with 34 deaths.
