Park Shin Hye expressed deep worry for the endangered animals that she was in South Africa. The viewers were able to see the actress’ touching concerns through the MBC documentary titled “Humanimal.”

The short docu-series premiered early this month, and it features Shin Hye as one of the presenters. Ryu Seung Ryong and Yoo Hae Jin are the other presenters of the episodes, while Kim Woo Bin has been recruited to be the narrator.

Shin Hye signed up as a presenter

It was in August last year when it was first confirmed that the actress is appearing in this show. Shin Hye said that this is an exciting project for her because she will be very involved. She will be present on the on-site filming that will take place overseas and present her personal encounter to the viewers.

“Humanimal” is a five-part documentary that will tell stories of how humans destroy and kill the animals for profit or fulfill their own selfish interests. In contrast, people who are working to protect animals will also be featured.

Shin Hye’s sadness over the animals’ condition

In the last episode of “Humanimal,” the actress was shown touring the area where elephants live, and she was genuinely horrified at the condition of the biggest mammals on earth. As she is personally witnessing how they were maltreated and neglected, Park Shin Hye could not stop herself from crying.

Allkpop reported that after seeing several injured or sick elephants and dead bodies, she started to shed tears. She saw them suffering, and this really made her heartaches. After realizing that they are in danger of extinction because people kill them for money, she was worried that they will be gone soon.

"The people who work in this field are so cool,” the publication quoted her as saying. “We are regretful we can't be like this to our own kind and treat animals worse when we should find more ways to protect them. We should also spread the word about how to protect these animals."

Park Shin Hye and the other presenters have traveled to Zimbabwe, Thailand, South Africa, the U.S., and Botswana for “Humanimal.” The show airs every Thursday, and the final episode is airing on Jan. 30.
